Description

I had a difficult time imaging last night. Seemed like nothing wanted to work. Eventually I had to re-start everything, which cleared up most of the problems. I then had autoguiding issues... essentially not guiding. I reset the autoguider software (PHD2) and did a calibration- which failed!. I then tried another calibration using a selected star vice multiple stars, and that worked. I do use a dark library so I should not have had issues with hot pixels - maybe it is time to update my dark library. The rest of the night went smoothly.

I am sure that all of us have had similar problems. Thankfully I was able to resolve without losing a good imaging night.

NGC 7814 is a spiral galaxy in Pegasus. It is seen edge-on similar to M104 (The Sombrero Galaxy). In fact, NGC 7814 is often referred to as the Little Sombrero.

I was 'only' able to capture 120 images (2 minute subs) since NGC 7814 is in Pegasus which by the time I started imaging was only 30 minutes from the meridian.  I then had to discard 10 images because it was to low for my observatory.
